Some playful sewing đ
Sometimes it's good to make something just for fun.
I recently re-watched all the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films, before watching the new Rings of Power series and I just knew I needed a green cloak in my life. A cloak can be a good basis for many a costume don't you think.
I'd meant to make this in time for Halloween but only finished it now, such is life. So I'm 11 months early for next year.
I used the Traveller Cape pattern from Twig&Tale (size S, length L with an extra 12" added to length). Fabric is a bottle green wool suiting from The Good Stitch Goring which has a nice drape. I didn't have anything suitable in my fabric stash for a full lining so decided to only line the hood and bias bound all the seams and hems instead. I started to regret my decision half way through as this took forever. But I'm really happy now with the finish and it was good practice. I used a decorative leaf stitch on my sewing machine as a border along the hems at the end, and used metal D rings and leather scraps for the fastening.
It's the last month of our Twig&tale storytellers team. I've so enjoyed our little community. Many thanks to T&T for the opportunity to make some great patterns that I will be using again and again.
