Current work in progress; exploring collage and stitch on paper.
In my surface pattern design work I paint lots of watercolour backgrounds which I then scan in and use digitally. Which means I have boxes full of lovely watercolour textures pages just sitting around. So I'm trying to find ways of incorporating them into something new.
I'm quite enjoying this process of using embroidery to add details, although stitching through heavy watercolour paper is quite hard on the hands so it's slow work and I had to make a thimble. I think this might be nearly done but I'm not quite sure yet. I feel I could keep going forever.
